After having attended the Gathering for 3 days, being able to see the pilots and aircraft again is compelling each time I view the DVD. The interviews with the P-51 veterans continue to impress me because they are so down to earth despite what they endured and achieved. The preparation and execution of the final "51" formation fly-by to end the show is compelling every time I play it. Good production values, good photography and editing. Well worth the price, particularly for a limited release DVD.

I couldn't attend this event. Something I will always regret. This video is FANTASTIC. A tribute to the great men and women who made us free, and those that continue to keep this national treasure of a plane alive. I don't give it five stars, I give it five American flags and a low pass in Gunfighter II by Regis......Absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!.....Mike Stark

I attended the show and regret I did not go to all three days. I have loaned the DVD out to a number of veterans. One in particular sticks in my mind. He was involved with Mustangs in WW-II and his wife said it perked him up from the doldrums of his old age. He watched it 4 or 5 times in the first day or two. He seems to be a new energetic man now. They even sent me a P-51 T-shirt as a thank you. BTW - go to www.GrayEagles.org and also pick up their DVD about ace Jim Brooks and his "February" - meeting again after over 60 years. Great story and stories. I bet you cannot keep a dry eye. Thanks again "Gathering". Great DVD.

I just finished the DVD. It is 90 minutes long and has 2 special features - a slideshow of the legends and a slide show of photos from the Gathering. The video generally follows the Gathering starting with the pre-weekend preparations and ending with the '51' formation. It toggles between shots of the airshow, interviews with the legends, and fly-on-the-wall video of the activities going on behind the scenes. hits: o very professionally done o the Legend interviews were fascinating. I wish I would have spent more time in their tents at the Gathering. o a nice mixture of P-51-core, human interest, and background misses: o the sound - I was hoping for Merlin engine noise that would shake the house o nearly all of the flying shots are on 'high zoom', it could use more wide angle shots and longer flybys, more shots of the heavy bombers making their runs This was a birthday gift (my wife is good!) and I am very happy to have it. Given the quality of the production, the fact that it supports the Gathering Foundation, and has some great interviews with the Legends, I highly recommend it.
